Seol Young-woo Became A Candidate For Best Assist At The Asian Cup

South Korea’s national soccer player Seol Young-woo has been nominated for best assist at the 2023 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Asian Cup.

AFC revealed six best assist candidates on Wednesday. “Asian soccer fans have witnessed amazing assists that lead to memorable goals,” AFC said. “Vote for your favorite assist.”

Seol Young-woo was the only Korean player to be named. Seol Young-woo connected a header to Cho Kyu-sung in the 8th minute of extra time in the second half of the match against Saudi Arabia in the round of 16, and Cho Kyu-sung scored a header equalizer. The two teams, which failed to win in extra time, entered the penalty shootout, and Cho Hyun-woo played a good defense to lead Korea to the quarterfinals.

“Sul Young-woo is a club on the continental stage and is one of the rising stars of Korean soccer that continues to shine for both countries,” AFC said. “A cross came up from the left side, and Seol Young-woo cleverly connected to Cho Kyu-sung with a header instead of aiming for the goal.”

Seol Young-woo, who played full-time in 120 minutes in the quarterfinals against Australia, was selected as the best 11 in the quarterfinals.

Meanwhile, other candidates were Jakob Sayuri against Indonesia, Iraq, Ali Saleh against the United Arab Emirates, Palestine, Akram Afif against Qatar, China, Doan Ritz against Japan, Indonesia, and Sardar Azmun against Iran, Japan. 토토사이트
