Park Yoon-Jung-ho, U-20 Women’s Asian Cup Drawings Damage to Japan, North Korea, and China
Park Yoon-jung-ho received an easy group schedule to avoid China, Japan and North Korea at the 2024 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) U-20 (under 20) Women’s Asian Cup.
As a result of the draw at the AFC House in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on the 15th, the Korean national team, led by coach Park Yoon-jung, belongs to Group A with host Uzbekistan, Australia, and Taiwan.
Japan, North Korea, China, and Vietnam were grouped into Group B.
For South Korea, this is the best result of avoiding the strongest team in Asia, Japan, which ranked eighth in the FIFA rankings announced in December, North Korea (9th), and China (19th), which is a traditional powerhouse.
However, Australia and host Uzbekistan (47th), ranked 12th in FIFA rankings, the third-highest among AFC countries, are the opponents Park Yoon-jung-ho should definitely prepare for.
Korea’s FIFA ranking is 20th.
The U-20 Women’s Asian Cup will be held in Uzbekistan from March 3 to 16 next year.
The first and second-place teams in each group will play a semifinal tournament to determine the winner.
Park’s goal is to win the title and qualify for the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Colombia next September.
The U-20 Women’s World Cup qualification will be given to the fourth-ranked team in Uzbekistan. In other words, if they make the second-ranked team in the group, they will secure a ticket to Colombia.
South Korea has won two U-20 Women’s Asian Cup titles (2004-2013).
Japan has won six times, including three consecutive losses, the most.
Meanwhile, Spain, the U.S. and France ranked first to third in December’s FIFA rankings, with Sweden falling from first to fifth. 사설토토
