Table Tennis Seo Soo-yeon also wins mixed doubles title…

By Seo Ha-eun – Hangzhou Commonwealth Games Foundation = Seo Soo-yeon (37, Gwangju Metropolitan Government) added another gold medal on the final day of the Hangzhou 2022 Para-Asian Games to complete a trifecta.

Seo, who teamed up with Park Jin-cheol (41, Gwangju Metropolitan Government), won 3-0 (11-3 11-9 11-7) in the XD4 Mixed Doubles final against Thailand’s Buttwansirina Chichitrarayak and Chuewong Thirayu at the Gungsu Canal Sports Park Gymnasium in Hangzhou, China on Monday.

After winning the Class 1-2 Women’s Singles and WD5 Women’s Doubles, Seo Soo-yeon also won gold in the Mixed Doubles.

Seo and cyclist Kim Jung-bin (32, North Korea Para Cycling Federation) are the only two South Koreans to win three medals at the Games.

Seo, who won two silver medals in Incheon in 2014 and two bronze medals in Indonesia in 2018, struck gold in all three events she competed in.

“It was my last match for the triple crown, and I wasn’t feeling well, so I was very nervous,” Seo said. “I faced a tough opponent, but I told Park Jin-cheol that I wanted to win this time. We had good chemistry in the actual match.”

He changed the way he gripped his racket in order to win the three titles in Hangzhou. She was worried that the adjustment period would take longer than expected, but in hindsight, it was the right choice.

“I had to change the way I play (to win the triple),” Suh said. “I was relieved to win the singles title. In the mixed doubles today, our ace Park Jin-cheol played a role, so we were able to achieve a good result.”

Seo Soo-yeon dreamed of becoming a model, but a medical accident in 2004 left her in a wheelchair.

While her modeling dreams never materialized, she became a Korean Para table tennis ace, reaching the top of the podium at the Hangzhou Para Asian Games three times.

Park Jin-chul, who won two gold medals in Indonesia in 2018, won his second gold medal in Hangzhou in the men’s singles event.

“In mixed doubles, the ball is in the women’s court,” Park said. We were able to win because Seo Soo-yeon held on,” he said, adding, “We were able to create synergy by accepting each other’s opinions and encouraging each other to make mistakes.” He credited ‘harmony’ as the secret to his victory. 슬롯사이트
