Woori Bank advances to Park Shin-ja Cup finals‘Korea-Japan battle’ for championship with Toyota

KB lost to Toyota by two points, making it 3rd and 4th place…a clash with Japan’s Eneos

Last season’s domestic women’s professional basketball integrated champion Asan Woori Bank reached the final at the Park Shin-ja Cup international competition ahead of the new season and will compete with the Japanese team for the championship.

Woori Bank advanced to the final by beating Japan’s Eneos Sunflower 74-71 in the semifinals of the tournament held at Cheongju Gymnasium in North Chungcheong Province on the 2nd.

Woori Bank, which has won Eneos for 11 consecutive years in Japan’s W League, reached the final of the Park Shin-ja Cup following last year’s Summer League, which gave promising players a chance.

Founded in 2015 after Mrs. Park Shin-ja, dubbed the “Legend of Korean Women’s Basketball,” the Park Shin-ja Cup was held until last year to find promising off-season players, but was reorganized into an international competition this year.

Overseas clubs also joined, and the prize money increased from 10 million won to 30 million won.

Woori Bank will play the final match against Toyota Antelops of Japan, which beat Cheongju KB in the semifinals that followed from 4:30 p.m. on the 3rd.

At Woori Bank, Park Ji-hyun was active with 18 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists, 4 steals, and Kim Dan-bi was active with 18 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists, and Choi E-sam made a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Na Yoon-jung added 13 points.

In Eneos, Tokashiki Ramu, who has WNBA experience, fought hard with 20 points and 9 rebounds.

Woori Bank, which led 37-30 at the end of the first half, allowed a 56-54 chase in the third quarter and gave up the lead to Saori Miyazaki with a three-point shot as soon as the fourth quarter began, and responded with Kim Dan-bi’s three-point shot and continued the close game.

Eneos tied the score 69-69 with Moeko Nagaoka’s two-point shot with 2:21 left, but Woori Bank later won the game by accumulating four consecutive points with Choi Yi-sam’s middle shot and Kim Dan-bi’s free throw.

KB lost 68-70 in the semifinals against Toyota, the runner-up in the Japanese W League last season, and met Eneos in the third and fourth place matches (2 p.m. on the 3rd).

Park Ji-soo led the attack with 29 points and 11 rebounds and Kang Yi-seul with 15 points, but the light faded.

KB led 51-45 until the third quarter, but lost the lead by giving up a decisive outside shot to its opponent Mai Yamamoto (15 points) in the seesaw game in the fourth quarter.

Yamamoto’s three-point shot went in 12.4 seconds before the end when KB was leading 68-67, making it Toyota’s come-from-behind final goal. Since then, KB’s Park Ji-soo aimed under the goal in the last attack, but the shot missed. 스포츠토토
