Women’s basketball KB leads 9 consecutive games alone
Cheongju KB, a women’s professional basketball team, has regained its sole lead with nine consecutive wins.
KB defeated Incheon Shinhan Bank 84-63 in the away game of Woori Bank’s Woori WON 2023-2024 women’s professional basketball regular league held at Dowon Gymnasium in Incheon on the 15th.
KB, which has won nine consecutive games and gained 11 wins and one loss, pushed Asan Woori Bank (10 wins and one loss) to second place and took the lead alone.
KB’s only loss this season was 71-72 against Woori Bank on Nov. 15, its third game of the season.
On the other hand, Shinhan Bank lost four consecutive games (1 win and 11 losses) again after winning its first win of the season by catching Busan BNK on the 2nd of this month.
Shinhan Bank led 23-22 in the first quarter with three three-point performances of fourth-year forward Lee Da-yeon, who boasts a strong outer gun this season.
At the beginning of the second quarter, Kim Ji-young also hit back-to-back outer shots to lead 31-24.
KB, which was dragged 31-38 with 4:18 left in the second quarter, later turned the tide with Park Ji-soo and Heo Ye-eun scoring eight consecutive points, turning the tables two minutes and nine seconds ago, and finished the first half 46-40.
KB, which started the second half with Heo Ye-eun’s two three-point shots and created a double-digit gap, was chased 54-50 midway through the third quarter, but Heo Ye-eun and Park Ji-soo scored consecutive points to run away again, and just before the end of the third quarter, Lee Yoon-mi’s three-point shot made it 65-54.
Shinhan Bank, which had difficulty in chasing after the ball at the end of the third quarter and Jinyoung Kim in the middle of the fourth quarter due to five fouls one after another, virtually admitted its defeat by sending out bench members, including taking out Kim Sonia 3 minutes and 4 seconds before the end of the 78-60 fourth quarter.
Park Ji-soo has scored 31 points, a personal record, 16 rebounds, and 5 assists this season.
Adding a block shot, she became the youngest player at age 25 and the fourth female pro basketball player to record at least 190 games, and achieved 400 block shots overall. The previous record was set by Lee Jong-ae, a retired professional golfer, at age 29 years and 10 months, in 197 games.
Heo Ye-eun added 19 points and 5 rebounds, and Kang Yi-seul and Lee Yoon-mi added 8 points each.
At Shinhan Bank, Kim Sonia and Lee Da-yeon scored 15 points each. 토토사이트
