“Perpetrator to victim…” drawn by ”Grass, it’s grown a lot”

Green praised his foe, Poole.

The Golden State Warriors defeated the Washington Wizards 125-112 in the 2024-2025 NBA regular season at Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C., on Friday (Jan. 5).

Ace Steph Curry made his return from an ankle injury. Curry made a successful return with 24 points and six assists. In addition, Draymond Green had a perfect performance with 18 points, eight rebounds, 바카라사이트 and five assists.

There was also another highlight. Jordan Poole met his hometown team. Poole has been in a Golden State uniform ever since he was drafted by the Warriors with the 29th overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft. In the 2021-2022 season, he was a key sixth man and helped the Warriors win the Finals.

Green was indirectly responsible for Poole’s departure from Golden State. During training camp ahead of the 2022-2023 season, Green punched Poole in the face. The incident caused quite a stir, and Green was heavily criticized. The incident completely destroyed the relationship between Poole and Green, as well as the team atmosphere in Golden State, and when it came down to choosing between Green and Poole, the Warriors chose Green. Poole was traded to Washington, ending his short and storied career in Golden State.

In Washington, Poole was expected to be the team’s ace, unlike his time in Golden State. However, after a disappointing 2023-2024 season, Poole was relegated to the bench at the end of the season.

It’s early in the 2024-2025 season, but Poole is looking like a completely different player. He’s playing point guard instead of shooting guard, and he’s becoming the ace Washington hoped he would be. In six games this season, he’s averaging 22.5 points and five assists per game.

In tonight’s game against Golden State, Poole was up to the task, scoring 24 points and dishing out three assists.

Green, who watched Poole’s performance from the other end, had a few words to say. In a postgame interview, Green said, “He’s a lot better. He’s much better than he was last season because of his shot selection. Last season, I think Poole was under pressure to make an impression because he was moving to a new team. This season, he seems to have settled down,” he praised.

It’s a sentiment that’s hard to understand. Poole is the player most affected by Green’s behavior. Green is known for some of the NBA‘s most unsportsmanlike behavior, but he’s generally perceived as a relatively good teammate. The punch to Poole completely changed that image. The incident must have scarred him mentally as well as athletically.

Green met Poole and complimented him. We don’t know how Poole felt when he received it.
