BNK sweeps KB, Pajuk’s ‘opening three-game winning streak’ continues as ‘transfer duo’ Kim Sonia-Park Hye-jin leads the way

Without Park Ji-Soo and Park Ji-Hyun, the women’s professional basketball landscape is shaking up early. Busan BNK has won its opening three games in a row by defeating Cheongju KB.

BNK defeated KB 66-56 in a home game of the Hana Bank 2024-2025 Women’s Professional Basketball League regular season at 파워사다리 Sajik Gymnasium in Busan on Saturday.

BNK, which defeated Yongin Samsung Life in the opening game and Asan Woori Bank in the second game, moved to the top of the standings with three straight wins to open the season. KB, which suffered its first loss of the season, dropped to second place, tied with Woori Bank and Bucheon Hana Bank.

After finishing at the bottom of the regular season last year, BNK has quickly emerged as a top contender this season after acquiring Park Hye-jin from Woori Bank and Kim Sonia from Shinhan Bank.

In this game, the two transfers had outstanding performances to help BNK to a pair of victories. Kim Sonia recorded a “double-double” with 20 points and 10 rebounds, while Park Hye-jin added 12 points and four assists.

For KB, Na Yoon-jung poured in a game-high 22 points, the most for both teams on the night and her career-high, but it was not enough in the loss. Najeong made six three-pointers, surpassing her previous single-game record of five three-pointers.
