Yonsei University’s OBs, “Proud of Your juniors”
Basketball players from Korea and Yonsei University visited the stadium for the 2024 regular game held in Goyang Sono Arena on Saturday. Many basketball players, active players and leaders did not hide their happy smiles while watching their younger players play.
The winners and losers were divided, and the alumni of the regiment, who enjoyed a regular victory in six years, were happy with their fists clenched, while the ancient times, which could not continue their winning streak, could not hide their regret over the defeat.
From former head coach Park Gun-yeon, Kim Tae-sul, Kwon Yong-woong, Mo Yong-hoon, Kim Chang-mo, and current players Lee Jung-hyun (Sono) and Kim Kyung-won (KGC), seniors and OBs from the regiment came down to the floor from the stands after the game to celebrate the victory of their juniors and take pictures of memories that will remain in each other’s memories for a long time.
“I’m so happy that I can’t explain it,” said former coach Lee Bang-yeol (61). “I’m so happy that my alma mater won a regular competition. It was all the more thrilling because we won after a close game. I’m so proud of my junior teammates.”
Last year, Kim Tae-sul (college student) helped coach Yoon Ho-jin briefly guide the team as an interim coach at Yonsei University. “We have lost regular games over the past few years, but today’s victory means a lot. I think the players finally opened their eggs,” Kim said. “I think the reason for the victory was that they pushed ahead with the ancient players until the end with grit and determination.”
Kim Tae-sul, who retired after experiencing professional performances, said something very painful from the perspective of a senior. “I am still a college student and a school is a place to learn anyway. I hope the younger players will continue to learn,” he said. “Until we win today, we lost to KUDA. We will continue to win in many games, but don’t be intimidated by the loss, and I hope we will prepare well for the next process.”
Although Mo is not an official coach, he follows Yonsei University’s overseas winter training every year to improve his skills. This victory was all the more impressive to him, who has always been patient with OB players and younger brothers.
“The players hugged me after the game, and I was so happy,” Mo said. “Regardless of the sweat on my uniform, I liked it so much. I’m not a member of Yonsei University, but I follow the training abroad every winter and get close to the players, which made my victory all the more impressive. I heard that the regular competition was my first win in six years. Congratulations on your victory.”메이저사이트
“Many players have never won a match against Korea University, and I’m sure this victory gave them a lot of confidence. We still have U-League schedules, so it’s important to stay alert and prepare well for the future,” he said. “I heard that the players are aware of this as well, so they will start training immediately after enjoying the joy of victory. Back then, we had a month-long vacation after the regular matches. I can feel the players’ strong will.”
Meanwhile, before the game, Korea University had the upper hand with 24 wins, 5 draws, and 22 losses in the regular games between the two schools, but Yonsei University won and chased closely with 24 wins, 5 draws, and 23 losses.
Keep up the fantastic work!
