“I’m just trying to take it one day at a time” DB Seung-Jae Park on his first professional offseason

Park Seung-jae (23, 178 cm) is having his first professional offseason.

The Wonju DB started training with the team for the new season on March 21 and traveled to Yangyang, Gangwon Province on March 29. In Yangyang, the team is continuing intense physical training, including weight training, court training, and cross-country. Park Seung-jae, who is spending his first professional offseason with all the domestic players, is also participating in all the training sessions.

On the 31st, Park Seung-jae said, “It’s really hard (laughs). But I think it helps me a lot and I’m working hard. I heard that DB offseason training is hard, so I was prepared. But it didn’t go as I planned, 사설 토토사이트 so I’m training with the mindset of enduring one day at a time,” he laughed.

Park joined DB with the 7th pick of the first round in the 2023 KBL Rookie Draft held last year. In his rookie season, he averaged 2.3 points, 0.6 rebounds, and 0.6 assists in 24 regular-season games, playing 5:55 minutes per game. It wasn’t a stellar performance, but it was a great experience for him to be on the court for so little time.

“I thought the team gave me a lot of opportunities, and I tried to live up to them and play hard for them. Of course, I’m not satisfied, but I think I showed some promise. I also realized that I had a lot to work on. Personally, I think it was a valuable debut season.” Park Seung-jae said.

DB’s starting point guard is Lee Sun Albano, who won the National Player MVP award last season. They also have Yoo Hyun-joon and veteran Kim Si-rae, who joined the team in the offseason. Park Seung-jae will have to overcome goodwill competition from the seniors to get a chance to play in the upcoming season.

“Competition is natural in the pros,” Park said. They are very good, and they have more experience than me. I can learn a lot from them while training with them. I’m also trying to keep their stories in mind. I think I’ll get better as I compete, so I’m going to focus on this aspect.”

“But I think I have the best physical strength because I’m the youngest. I don’t have a bad fast break, and I think my dribbling rhythm is different from my older brothers. If I utilize my own strengths, I expect to be able to step on the court a bit more,” he added.

Park Seung-jae is in his first offseason as a professional. He can definitely grow even more if he endures tough training. DB, who selected Park with an eye on the future, will be happy if he shows improvement.

“The team did so well last season. We were disappointed in the playoffs, so we’re all working together to make up for it. I want to improve a lot personally and contribute to the team to reach high heights,” he said.
