Lee Kang-in, a promising figure…good chemistry with Mbappe
Local French media have hailed Lee Kang-in’s return to Paris Saint-Germain.
Paris defeated Strasbourg 3-0 in the ninth round of the 2023-2024 Ligue 1 at the Parc des Princes in Paris, France, on Sept. 22 (KST).
Lee started on the right wing and led the attack alongside Kylian Mbappe, Bradley Barcola, and Gonzalo Ramos.
Lee had an uneventful performance. On the right flank, he was mainly attacking, assisted by his former Valencia teammate Carlos Soler.
On Soler’s goal, he used his sharp left foot to link up with Mbappe. In the 31st minute, Lee picked up the ball on the right flank and slipped a pinpoint pass through the defense to Mbappe, who beat his man to the ball and set up Soler with a grounded cross.
Ousmane Dembele was then introduced in the second half, moving to the left flank and swapping places with Mbappe.
Lee has been in fine form of late. He started two league games for Paris this summer before being sidelined for about a month with a thigh injury.
He returned to action in the UEFA Champions League group stage match against Borussia Dortmund, and then headed straight to Hwang Sun-hong’s Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games squad.
At the Asian Games, he was given limited playing time and gradually integrated into the team as he regained his form, and although he didn’t record any attacking points, he made his presence felt by leading the team’s attack.
In October’s A matches, he scored multiple goals against Tunisia and one goal and one assist against Vietnam, establishing himself as the next national team ace.
In front of his home fans for the first time in nearly two months, Lee put in a solid performance in his 토토사이트 first full game as a starter.
Local French media praised Lee’s performance. “He showed promise on his return to Paris,” said Getfootballnews France, which gave him a 6 rating, the second highest after Mbappe. He linked up well with Mbappe and held his own under Strasbourg’s pressure.”
